Now a member of one of the foremost chillroom crews in San Francisco, Actual Rafiq was inducted into the Ambient Mafia in 2006. He is no stranger to the Bay Area DJ scene. He has been spinning records for over 6 years, most recently producing and playing trip-hop and downtempo. Actual Rafiq has also been known to perform Live PAs of: house, breaks, and even jungle/dnb when needed.

Born in the Wimbledon district of London on the day after Christmas, Rafiq has played music since the age of fifteen. Initially playing drums for a grindcore/death metal band, Rafiq soon progressed to playing with a plethora of bands of various genres. The most notable of these being the highly acclaimed South Bay postrock/shoegaze trio: "bubblejacket."

As of 2008, Actual Rafiq has produced 12 albums of original music, all available at Itunes and most other major online music retailers. The discography covers virtually every subgenre of electronic music known: House, TripHop, DrumNBass/Jungle, Trance, Midtempo, Downtempo, IDM, Ambient, Acid Jazz, Electro, Techno,Hip-Hop, Breakbeat, 2-Step, it's all there... Something for EVERY DJ!! has also composed soundtracks for 2 16mm films: "Card Playing" (2004/Jee-Hyun Yoo) "About Time" (2004 /R.Gulamani) and 1 animated film: "Bubble,Bubble" (2005/Won-Jeon [Leah] Chun)which was selected for the 2005 Stash Media Awards.

Despite his full plate as a freelance artist/illustrator, Actual Rafiq's undying devotion to music production and DJing has consistently kept eager audiences listening intently, as they revel in the ever-shifting sounscapes attributed to his "chameleonic" style.
