DJ Aleks figured it out early. While most kids his age were still dreaming of becoming firemen, Presidents, and pro skaters, 12-year-old Alexander Lee Limon had found himself a new pastime: turntablism. He cut his teeth on hip-hop, but as the tables turned so did his interest: break beats house uk hard house. Now 25, Aleks has been DJing for half his life, and has carved out a serious reputation playing UK hard house and Breakbeats for audiences who know whats what. A musician among musicians and an innovator from the beginning, Aleks plays the music audiences love to dance to, and picks up fans everywhere he goes.

Born and raised in San Luis Obispo, California, Aleks spent his spare time collecting records and listening to the radio. During his high school years he got hooked on DJ Morgans weekly show on KCPR 91.3FM, Rhythm Asylum Aleks saw an opportunity to get involved with one of his role models, and introduced himself to Morgan as soon as he got the chance. Morgan liked Aleks enthusiasm and invited him to play on Rhythm Asylum Aleks first appearance on the show was so successful that he became a regular guest a clear sign of the great things to come. In February 1997, with six years of learning under his belt, Aleks finally got his big break. Morgan, by now a colleague and good friend, asked Aleks to spin at his first rave, Access. It changed my life forever - from then on I knew I was supposed to be in the underground scene, Aleks remembers. And the scene felt the same: his DJing career snowballed with every gig he played. In the next few years, Aleks gained the admiration and respect of the Central California scene. He was an active member in several of San Luis Obispos most prominent companies, including Poker Productions, 10/6 Productions, Recess Productions, Numinous, Stillwater Records, and the Vibe Tribe (GoodE-Records and Urban Addict), and was instrumental in strengthening his local scene with his own club nights: Harmonix from September of 1998 to June 1999 and Noisegate from September of 1999 to June of 2000. The San Luis Obispo scene was at the height of its success.

But by then Aleks knew it was time to branch out. Bidding his hometown goodbye, he set off for the San Francisco Bay Area and the next stage of his career. He landed a job at Digital Edge Distribution, a pro audio distributor located in San Francisco, and settled down to plan his attack on the SF scene. Using his 13 years of experience and connections to his best advantage, Aleks found it easier to break in than most young DJs: he was offered his first gig within months of his arival. In his three years in the San Francisco Bay Area, Aleks has played with several companies: Lotek Records (DJ Morgans label), Audio Metamorphosis, Preserve Productions, Shaolin Productions, E-Lightenment Productions, Elektrosorcery, 925 kids.

He has been creating his own Uk hard house tracks since 1997, and now has twenty five originals (along with some remixes) and counting. His Bay Area reputation is growing inexorably, which to those who know him is no surprise.
