2-4 Grooves

A producer and a DJ. Is there a better mixture for a house project? Not for 2-4 Grooves!

The Project 2-4 Grooves from Ostwestfalen consists of the producer Mr Starfunk (Sascha Mulder) and the DJ Steve Sound (Stephan Drobez). For some years the two produce the finest of House Beats and let the people rock at a wide variety of clubs when they stand behind the turntables.

They published their first tracks at the label “Secret Service” from cologne in the year 2004. After celebrating the premiere with “Run Hide” at the “Secret Service WMC 2004- Limited Edition E.P.” followed their first own E.P. “Love .P.” with songs like “Love”, “Closer 2 U”, “Run Hide- Club Mix” and the floorfiller “Rockset’.

To connect with the success from “Love E.P.” the next E.P. “Again E.P.” was put on the market. This one distinguished itself with following tracks: Again feat.Strictly Kingz),”Be loved” and “Wanna be”.

Not only at the clubs and in their own studio 2-4 Grooves feel at home.

Regularly both turn the records at the biggest network radio “mth.house” in Germany and so delight an always growing audience.

The love to the music determines the life of 2-4 Grooves.House became contents of life of Steve Sound and Mr.Starfunk, and this tight binding to the music is realized in every single track and every single set.

You can be curious with what Steve Sound and Mr. Starfunk surprise us in this year.

One thing is for sure: In case you can’t see us, you will hear from us !

History of 2-4 Grooves

Once upon a time there was a DJ, Steven Sound by name, who had the idea to produce a track, but unfortunately he couldn’t realize his dream.

One Saturday evening the producer Mr. Starfunk came to the “workarea” of Steve Sound and introduced himself as a producer. Both were lost in a long conversation and a few weeks later they had their first meeting. Besides Mr. Starfunk introduced his production and Steve Sound was totally enthusiastic.

Furthermore this producer managed to realize Steve’s dream of an own track. That was the outbreak as well for the DJ as for the producer, both were delighted.

Like the way life is now and then: It came to an unbecoming change! Both all at once persecute different aims in life - new girlfriends, apprenticeship, German federal armed forces. And so it happened that the two of them got out of touch- but never out of time! In addition to that we should mention that a “Ducktales Song” (interior- not of longer importance!) destroyed something. As they (rarely) crossed their path they could hardly say “Hello”.

One and a half years later...

Once more by chance, for sure, they met again - only to take a cup of coffee together! They had a lot to talk about but music was the topic no. 1 as always. Steve Sound told Mr Starfunk that he became one of 10 Rookies, who had been invited to an DJ Contest at the House Club “Relax” to put on the records. Mr. Starfunks Track “Good Vibrations” was completed after weeks full of work.

(Steve: Funky!) Steve still wanted to make up for it because of the first track “Sunshine”, so he played that song at the clubs. The club was very well-filled and “Good Vibrations” rocked the dancefloor. The guests and DJs became enthusiastic over it and even Saschas eyes was filled with brightness, because he never had heard his own track at the disco before.

After that night a project should be founded. A producer and a DJ - For both there still cannot be a better mixture!

So they consider a name until the next morning. And after some packs of cigarettes and lots of coffee it was certain:

Two For Grooves (2-4 Grooves) should be its name.

...the child had a name! Since that day it grows day by day and develops with love to the music and care.

It had been produced ‘til the doctor comes. Some time Steve was courageous enough to send that stuff to all directions. And what happened? Who was knocking on his door? The guys from Secret Service. The label for the present cancelled their tracks so far but advertised them for future productions. It followed many orders until today, what leads to some releases.

A dream came true...
